Text QR Code Generator
Encode plain text, notes or messages into a QR code.
What is a text QR code?
A text QR code stores plain text rather than a link. When scanned, most phones simply display the text — handy for short notes, serial numbers, instructions, coupon codes or messages that don't need to open a website.
How to create one
Type or paste your text. The tool preserves line breaks and fully supports Unicode and emoji, so non-Latin scripts work too. Watch the live preview: as the text grows, the code becomes denser.
How capacity works
A single QR code can hold a few thousand characters at most, and the practical limit is much lower if you want reliable scanning. Higher error-correction levels reduce the available capacity because they add redundant data. If your text is long, lower the error correction or split the content.
Scanning and printing tips
Dense codes need larger print sizes and higher-resolution cameras. If a code won't scan, shorten the text, increase the size, or drop the error correction from H to M.
Privacy and security
Your text is encoded locally and never uploaded. Nothing you type is logged or transmitted.
Limitations
Text codes can't run actions — they just show text. Very long passages create codes that are impractical to print small.
Frequently asked questions
Does it support emoji and other languages?
Yes. Text is encoded as UTF-8, so emoji, accents and non-Latin scripts all work.
How much text can I encode?
Technically thousands of characters, but for reliable scanning keep it short. Long text makes a dense code that is hard to scan.
Are line breaks kept?
Yes, line breaks in your text are preserved in the encoded data.
